Does continuity
exist?
YES
Go to Step 4
Go to Step 3
Is voltage 4.7 to
5.25V?
NO
 Ignition OFF
 Cam phase sensor connector
DISCONNECTED
 ECU connector CONNECTED
 Check the continuity between
pin 3 and pin 1 of the cam
phase sensor connector
Step 2
Go to Step 5

O
 Clear the error codes and
verify
 Turn ignition OFF
 Cam phase sensor
connector
DISCONNECTED
 ECU connector
CONNECTED
 Turn ignition ON
 Measure the voltage
between pin 3 of the cam
phase sensor connector
and battery negative
 Connect the smart tester
 Turn the ignition ON
 Initialise the diagnostic tool
 Record the error codes and clear
 Turn ignition OFF
 Turn ignition ON
 Crank the engine
 Verify if P0340 or P0341 is
