7 Steering mechanism inspection and adjustment
Place the Masai K50 on a level surface. Support the vehicle body with a work stand to raise the
front wheel off the ground.
Hold the handlebar and front wheels with both hands and shake left and right slowly. If you
notice any slack, then tighten the lock nuts of the steering shaft, the handlebar clamp and the
ball joint arm. If any slack still appears, then replace the parts as needed.
Torque values:
Steering shaft lock nut: 80 – 95 Nm (59 - 70 lbft)
Steering shaft holder lock nut: 25 – 40 Nm (18 – 30 lbft)
Handlebar clamp lock nut: 8 – 14 Nm (6 – 10 lbft)
Ball joint arm lock nut: 40 – 55 Nm (29 – 40 lbft)
