Instruments and Controls
Windshield Wipers and
Washers Control
The right multifunction lever controls
windshield wiper and washer
operation. This operates only with the
ignition device at ON.
WARNING!
•
Do not start the windshield washer
during the cold months until the
windshield has warmed up. If it has
not warmed up, the liquid could
freeze on the glass and block your
view.
•
Sudden loss of visibility through
the windshield could lead to a
collision. You might not see other
vehicles or other obstacles. To avoid
sudden icing of the windshield
during freezing weather, warm the
windshield with the defroster before
and during windshield washer use.
CAUTION!
•
Never use the windshield wiper
to remove layers of snow or ice
from the windshield glass. In such
conditions, the windshield wiper may
be subjected to excessive stress and
the motor cut-out switch, which
prevents operation for a few seconds,
may intervene. If operation is not
subsequently restored, even after
restarting the engine, contact an
Authorized Maserati Dealer.
•
In cold weather, always turn off
the windshield wiper control and
allow the wiper to return to the
park position before turning off
the engine. If the wiper control is
left on and the wiper freeze to the
windshield, the wiper motor may
be damaged when the vehicle is
restarted.
•
Always remove any buildup of snow
that prevents the windshield wiper
blade from returning to the off
position. If the windshield wiper
control is turned off and the blade
cannot return to the off position, the
wiper motor may be damaged
•
Do not operate the windshield
wiper with the blade lifted from the
windshield glass.
•
Make sure the windshield wiper and
washer device is turned off if there is
ice on the windshield glass.
•
Make sure the windshield wiper and
washer device is turned off whenever
the windshield glass must be cleaned.
