In an Emergency
First Aid Kit ( )
The First Aid Kit is available in the
front luggage compartment inside the
Emergency Kit case (if foreseen).
This kit contains following:
• sterile gauze to cover and clean the
wounds;
• bandages of various sizes;
• treated adhesive bandages of various
sizes;
• an adhesive bandage strip;
• a pair of rounded-end scissors;
• gloves;
• rescue blanket.
Hazard Warning Flashers
The hazard warning flashers switch is
located in the dome console.
Press the switch to turn on the hazard
warning flashers to warn oncoming
traffic of an emergency. When these
lights illuminate, the turn signals and
the related warning lights on the
instrument cluster start flashing.
Press the switch a second time to turn
off the hazard warning flashers.
This is an emergency warning system
and it should not be used when the
vehicle is in motion. Use it when your
vehicle is disabled and it is creating a
safety hazard for other motorists.
When you must leave the vehicle to
seek assistance, the hazard warning
flashers will continue to operate even
though the ignition is set in STOP
position.
CAUTION!
•
When the hazard warning flashers
are activated, the turn signals control
is disabled.
•
The extended use of the hazard
warning flashers may wear down
your battery.
Auto Hazard Warning Flashers
In the event of emergency braking,
the ESS (Emergency Stop Signalling)
will activate the warning lights that
will start flashing if the following
conditions occur:
• deceleration higher than or equal to
7.1 m/s
2
;
• vehicle speed higher than 30 MPH;
• brake pedal pressed;
• drive mode selector is not in CORSA
or ESC-OFF.
The warning lights will turn off after
the following conditions:
• deceleration lower than 2.6 m/s
2
for
three samplings;
• pressing the hazard warning flashers
switch;
• in case of an accident.
