Always make sure the work surface is free of
nails and other foreign objects. Cutting into a
nail can cause the blade to jump or break.
WARNING: Use caution when handling
blades. They are very sharp.
WARNING: Never touch the blade
immediately after turning the scroll saw OFF.
The blade will be extremely hot.
Install the blade with the teeth pointing
downward toward the table. An incorrectly
installed blade will not cut properly and will
make control of the workpiece very difficult.
Always use the correct blade type for the type
of material being cut.
Check the blade before each use to ensure it
is in good condition and is properly installed.
Never use a dull or bent blade.
Adjust the blade tension before each use.
Blades that are too tight or too loose can break
and cause injury. Recheck the blade tension
periodically.
DANGER: Always remove the plug from
the power source when changing the blade,
when making adjustments and when servicing
the tool.
Turn the saw OFF and unplug the cord if the
blade binds in the saw kerf while being backed
out of the workpiece, usually caused by sawdust
clogging the kerf behind the blade. If this
happens, turn the switch OFF and unplug the
power cord. Carefully pry the kerf open with a
screwdriver and back the blade out of the
workpiece.
Do not feed the workpiece into the blade too
fast while cutting. Only feed the workpiece at
the rate the saw will cut smoothly.
Turn the switch OFF, remove the switch key
and make sure the saw has come to a complete
stop before installing or removing a blade, and
before leaving the work area.
Do not turn the saw ON with the workpiece
touching the blade. Slowly feed the workpiece
into the blade.
When cutting a large workpiece, make sure
the overhanging portion of the workpiece is
supported at saw table height.
Exercise caution when cutting workpieces
that are round or irregularly shaped. Round
items will roll and irregularly shaped workpieces
can pinch the blade.
Keep the motor air slots clean and free of
sawdust.
Always hold the workpiece firmly against the
saw table.
To prevent injuries, avoid awkward hand or
finger positions, where a sudden slip could
cause a hand to move into the moving blade.
Never leave the tool running unattended.
Always turn the tool OFF and do NOT leave the
area until the blade comes to a complete stop.
Never cut material that is too small to be held
safely.
Keep hands out of the path of the saw blade.
Turn the switch OFF, remove the switch key
and make sure the saw has come to a complete
stop before installing or removing a blade, and
before leaving the work area.
Disconnect the saw from the power source,
and clean the machine before leaving it.
