What to do if my McQuay Chiller shows a high pressure malfunction?
- PPamela DavisAug 23, 2025
A high-pressure malfunction in your McQuay Chiller can stem from several issues. The motor could be damaged, there might be a short circuit in the air circulation, or the heat exchanger could be dirty. Other potential causes include a dirty refrigerant side filter, excessively high ambient temperature, or too much refrigerant charge. It could also be due to a PCB high-pressure output failure or a voltage switch failure. To resolve this, try the following: * Change the motor. * Improve condenser air circulation. * Clean the condenser. * Check and replace the refrigerant side filter. * Power off the system if the ambient temperature is too high. * Discharge some refrigerant. * Change the PCB or pressure switch if those are the cause.
