Fan
The fan gets its movement directly from the motor shaft to
which it is fixed through a sealing dowel. Its rotary
movement pushes air inside and around the combustion
chamber from which it continually removes heat, thus
generating a flow of clean hot air.
Be careful when carrying out maintenance operations that
involve removing the fan. Sometimes, a hammer or similar
object is used to hit the blades, damaging its tilt or even
compromising its balancing. If one notices that with the
machine started, there is excessive vibration on the motor
bracket, check fan balancing and, if needed, replace it.
Figure 11 Fan.
Motor
The motor is single-phase, powered at 110-120V - 60Hz.
It may be 2- or 4-poles, based on the heater type, and
therefore its rotation speed is respectively equal to 2100
and 1400 revs per minute. It is air cooled thanks to fins
on the motor block. It has two drives, one powering the
fuel pump, the other rotating the fan. It is equipped with
a thermal disc safeguarding internal parts of the motor
from possible overheating that may occur when the stall
torque becomes too great and the there is too much
stress on the motor. The driving power is respectively
500 W for the 2-poles type while it is 750 W for the 4-
poles type.
