Information on diagnostics
The following pages contain information about diagnostics. To use the information, establish what
the existing problem condition is and follow the test procedures listed for that specific type of
problem.
Troubleshooting
Observed problem: The motor does not run and the flame does not ignite
Possible cause
A. Missing electrical power supply
B. Incorrect adjustment of the possible control device (thermostat)
C. Defective control device
D. Interrupted or defective motor winding
E. Blocked motor bearings
F. Burnt motor condenser
G. Seized fuel pump
H. Burnt fuse or defective connections
I. Damaged power cable
J. Tripped flame control equipment
K. Defective flame control equipment
Repair procedure
A. Missing electrical power supply
1. Verify characteristics of the electrical system (120V - 60Hz)
2. Check integrity and functionality of the switch
3. Check integrity of the line fuse
B. Incorrect adjustment of the possible control device (thermostat)
1. Check that control device adjustment is correct (for example the temperature set on the thermostat must
be greater that room temperature)
C. Defective control device
1. Replace the control device
D. Interrupted or defective motor winding
1. Disconnect the heater from the electrical power supply
2. Detach the control panel and remove the wires powering the motor
3. Connect the ohmmeter lead wires to the blue and brown wires and verify that the motor resistance is not
null. If this were not the case, the motor is defective and must be replaced. Properly adjust the ohmmeter
scale
E. Blocked motor bearings
1. Disconnect the heater from the electrical power supply.
2. Detach the control panel and remove the wires powering the motor
3. Replace the defective motor with an operational original spare part
F. Burnt motor condenser
1. Operate in the same was as the previous case
G. Seized fuel pump
1. Remove the upper movable mantle
2. Grab the fan and try to rotate it. If that is not the case, disassemble the pump and rotate the shaft using
pliers
3. If its rotation is impossible, it means the pump is seized and must therefore be replaced otherwise it
means that the motor bearings are ruined and therefore operate as described in point E
