MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: SERVICE / MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL
The bed is a heavy piece of equipment. It is strongly recommended that any servicing or
maintenance of the bed be performed by two or more personnel.
The Maintenance Schedule on Page 22 of this manual can be copied and used as a procedural
guide and documentation.
CLEANING AND DISINFECTING ThE BED
1. WARNING: Unplug the power cord before cleaning or performing maintenance on the bed.
2. Wipe the bed down with disinfectant and allow the bed to dry completely before use.
MEChANICAL INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE
1. Inspect all bed components for damage or excessive wear.
2. Visually examine all welds for cracks.
3. Inspect the deck components for any bending, damage or excessive wear.
4. Check the ends of the actuators and mounting hardware for any bending, damage or
excessive wear.
5. Inspect all bolts and fasteners for proper functioning
(Do not over tighten bolts at pivot points)
6. Check the casters to ensure they are both locking and rolling properly.
7. Check the brake locks on head and foot ends of the bed for proper locking/unlocking.
8. Check each width and length extension portion of the bed deck for proper movement.
9. Ensure that the tension knobs under the head/footboard mounting brackets are tightened,
and that the space between the headboard and mattress, and footboard and mattress are
not to exceed 1”.
