Weekly cleaning for espresso machine. The Melitta espresso machine must be cleaned weekly in
order to maintain equipment operation and extend equipment life.
For 24-hour restaurants: Managers preference.
Tools and supplies
Bucket, clean and
sanitized towels
McDonalds
Weekly Cleaning Procedure
Press clean menu tab. Press
the “Clean touch screen”
button to lock the screen for
cleaning. Clean screen with
glass cleaner and a paper
towel.

Unlock touch screen
After cleaning, unlock
the display by touching
the numbers in
sequence “1, 2, 3, 4”
on the display.
Press to open the (1) waste
drawer door and pull out the
(2) waste drawer. Empty the
waste drawer and take it to
the 3 compartment sink.
Unlock the bean hoppers and
close the bottom opening by
turning the handle counter-
clockwise. Lift bean hopper
straight up with both hands
and take it to the 3
compartment sink.
Lift up drip grate from the
drip tray and take it to the 3
compartment sink.
Take the waste drawer, bean
hoppers and drip grate to the
3 compartment sink.
Wash, rinse, and sanitize.
Air dry all cleaned and
sanitized parts before
reinstalling. Do not use
abrasive cleaning products.
