3. Unscrew the old filter by using an oil filter wrench tool and turning the filter counterclockwise.

Aids in the removal of the oil filter.
4. Clean the oil filter mounting base.
5. Apply a film of clean oil to the filter gasket. Do not use grease.
6. Screw the new filter on until the gasket contacts the base, then tighten the filter another 3/4 to 1
turn.
