5.1. What is the Purpose of M=Light Control Software?
The software is used for control and parameterization of the M=Light LED. All parameters that
have been set and adjusted by means of M=Light-Control will be maintained after disconnection of
the CAN-bus line. Saving of the parameterization in the M=Light LED is non-volatile and data is
maintained in the M=Light LED even if it is disconnected from the voltage supply.
5.2. Installation of the M=Light Control Software
5.2.1. System Prerequisites
I PC with USB port
I Windows XP or Windows 7 operating system
I CAN-bus interface for USB port
5.2.2. Installation Process
Connect the data carrier supplied with the M=Light LED to the PC.
Run Setup.exe.
Select a language.
The installation routine at first guides you through installation of the MESSRING M=Light Control
software and subsequently through installation of the IXXAT MiniMon driver for the CAN-bus
interface.
