Why do both units of my Midea Air Conditioner make noises?
- KKaitlin Hoffman DDSSep 14, 2025
Low hissing sounds during operation of your Midea Air Conditioner are normal and caused by refrigerant gas flowing through both indoor and outdoor units. A low hissing sound when the system starts, has just stopped running, or is defrosting is also normal and caused by the refrigerant gas stopping or changing direction. Squeaking sounds are due to the normal expansion and contraction of plastic and metal parts caused by temperature changes during operation.
