Cleaning/Maintenance
Equipment Alert
All Midmark Handpieces must be sterilized and lubricated after every patient. Frequent
cleaning will prolong the life of the handpiece. Step 2 MUST be performed after every patient
because Lubrication will elongate the life and performance of the handpiece to eliminate
debris from within the Low-Speed handpiece 002-1277-01 (0 -20,000 rpm). The O-ring on the
swivel coupler for item 002-1277-00 (0-5,000rpm) MUST be lubricated at least once a week.
WARNING
Handpiece should be sterilized between patients to prevent cross-contamination
which could result in serious illness or death from infectious diseases.

Maintenance - Low-Speed Handpiece
(only for 002-1277-01 Low-Speed w/o Swivel 0-20,000 rpm).
• Over time a build-up of debris inside the motor may affect the Midmark Low-Speed handpiece
performance.
• Apply Midmark one-step handpiece cleaner/conditioner to the drive air inlet tube and run the
handpiece for 8-10 seconds to flush the debris out of the motor between patients. Like new
performance should then be restored.
• Wipe the Midmark Low-Speed handpiece with a clean, dry cloth or gauze to remove excess oil.
