6) To detach the block from the ring it’s possible to use the ring extractor. Choose the right base
depending on the ring dimension. Put the ring on top of the extractor base.
7) Put the extractor over the ring and push down in order to move up the block and outside the ring.
Complete the extraction pushing the block.
If block extraction is difficult, warm the base of the block
with a gloved hand. This will soften residual MCC that is
formed under the ring.
8) If the freezing was made at -80°C, leave the block in the cryostat for 15minutes to ambient it. Trim
and cut the block.
