How to fix Mitel Gateway when it does not load the latest firmware (tftpSendRequest fails)?
    • M
      Mark PerezAug 19, 2025
If your Mitel CITELlink Gateway fails to load the latest firmware and displays a 'tftpSendRequest fails' error, the TFTP server IP address might be incorrect. Ensure network connectivity. If you're using DHCP (with internal DHCP), verify that option 128 on the DHCP server points to the 3300 ICP controller (internal TFTP) or an external TFTP server. Also, confirm that the gateway is properly configured: 'autoUpdate' is set to True (default = true), 'dhcpEnabled' is set to True (default = true), and 'configAddress' appears as '0.0.0.0,' indicating the gateway uses DHCP addressing. Remember that a static setting on the gateway will override DHCP options programmed on the 3300 ICP.

What to do if phone displays are blank after powering up Mitel Gateway?
    • M
      Mr. Nicholas BrownAug 21, 2025
If the phone displays are blank after powering up the Mitel Gateway, there might be a few reasons: * Check for faulty connections to the telephone by ensuring the Amphenol connector is firmly seated and verifying connections to the punch-down block and sets. * Ensure the line connector (RJ11) is firmly seated. * Verify the wiring is correct. * Confirm that the phone model is supported by the gateway. * Check if the gateway is running the correct version of firmware. From the console, switch to Expert mode and press “F” to display the firmware version, or reboot the gateway and check the console for the firmware version. If the gateway is not running version 1.0.2.3, upgrade the firmware. * If the set is locked out, refer to the “SET LOCKED OUT” action.

Why does 'PIN then FEATURE' appear on Mitel Gateway display?
    • A
      Alex ThomasAug 25, 2025
If “PIN then FEATURE” appears on the display of your Mitel Gateway phone, it indicates that the set has not been registered. To resolve this, register the phone. If registration fails, check that Option 129 on the DHCP server is pointing to the 3300 ICP controller. Also, ensure the extension number hasn't already been registered. If it has, register the phone using the Set Replacement code.

Why does my Mitel Gateway phone remain in DHCP discovery?
    • W
      William FrederickNov 15, 2025
If your Mitel Gateway phone remains in DHCP discovery, it could be due to a couple of reasons. First, the CITELlink Gateway might not have been assigned IP addresses. To resolve this, verify that Option 128, 129, and 130 are correctly programmed for your subnet on the DHCP server. Also, make sure the DHCP server has sufficient IP addresses available, is active, and functional. Finally, ensure the Layer 2 switch port for the gateway has network connectivity. Another potential cause is a lack of network connectivity. Check that a Cat 5 straight-through cable connects the MDI-II port on the gateway to a Layer 2 switch port. Ensure the switch port isn't shut down, shows link activity, and is configured to allow access to the DHCP server and the 3300 ICP controller. Connecting the gateway to a...
