12 CONTROL SUB FUNCTIONS
The pre-reading start function is effective for the system as shown below.

Feed shaft
Stock

Fig. 12.52 shows a system example which repeats:
1) Feeding a stock with a feed shaft; and
2) Cutting it with a cutter
to cut the stock to fixed size. The operations of the feed shaft and cutter shaft are
represented as shown in Fig. 12.53.
