How to fix excessive spatter on my MK Welding Welding System?
- KKyle RayAug 1, 2025
Excessive spatter in your MK Welding System could be due to several reasons. The wire feed speed might be too high, so try selecting a lower speed. The voltage could also be too high, so select a lower voltage setting. Ensure you have the correct polarity set for the wire you're using. The stick out may be too long, so bring the torch closer to the work. Contaminated base metal can also cause this, so remove materials like paint, grease, oil, dirt, and mill scale. Also, use clean, dry, rust-free wire and avoid lubricating it. Finally, check your gas flow; ensure it's connected, hoses aren't restricted, and the gas valve and torch are clear. Set the gas flow between 6-12 l/min and protect the welding zone from wind and drafts.
