An SNR threshold that determines whether the MC is looking for other APs with short or long time
interval.
Specifies a (long) interval with which the MC scans the specified channels when the SNR value is
higher than the specified threshold.
Specify a (short) interval with which the MC scans the specified channels when the SNR value is
lower than the specified threshold.
The explicit specification of channels that the MC is to scan.
The SNR threshold value is set by setting the parameter "AP-Density".
The following values are set:
No AP Density SNR note
1 autodetect
(default)
variabel With this setting, an algorithm is activated which varies the SNR
threshold according to the found conditions.
!! This setting should preferably be configured.!!
2 high 35 Depending on how "tight" the APs are mounted in the operating range
of the MC, a specific threshold value can be set here.
3 medium 30
4 low 25
5 static client 20 When the MC is installed at a fixed location, the threshold can be set
relatively low, thus avoiding unnecessary scanning.
6 no roaming 0 If scanning is to be minimized or if there is only one suitable AP near
the MC, the SNR value can also be set to "0" with "no roaming".
7 custom roaming Para. This allows the SNR value to be specified individually.
If the MC changes the AP or is disconnected from an AP for another reason, this AP is initially locked for a
certain time. This blocking time can be set with the parameter "Blacklist Timer". The time is expressed in
seconds. A value of 0 means that the timer never expires and thus a connection to the AP's in the list is
possible only after a reset of the MC.
5.3.2 Ping-Test
The ping test function is essentially an error search function. If, during operation, and especially after a
change of the AP (roaming), longer interruptions of the WLAN connection should occur, this fault can be
documented with this function in the debug log. It is also possible in this case, by resetting and restarting the
WLAN connection, to try to resolve the interruption.
The parameters of this function are:
No. Parameter Value Default Function
1 Ping IP
192.168.170.100
destination IP address for the ping requests
2 Ping-Intervall 1 - 3600 10 Interval in seconds with which the pings are sent
3 Wireless
Reconnect
false This option can be activated to restart the WLAN connection
after a certain number of ping responses fail.
4 Max. missing
replies
1-60 10 Maximum number of successive failures before the wireless
connection is restarted.
