Lifting the Vehicle
It is recommended that the vehicle is only lifted using a professional workshop post
lift or hydraulic ramp. Wheels should be changed at a Morgan dealership where
the vehicle can be raised using specialist equipment. In an emergency, a jack may be
used to raise the vehicle suciently to clear a trapped obstacle from underneath.
Red arrows: Reinforced jacking points on the chassis.
Amber arrows: Position for post lift support arms.
JUMP STARTING AND LIFTING THE VEHICLE
Jump Starting
To jump start the vehicle, rst connect the positive lead of power supply to the
positive terminal on the battery. Then, connect the negative terminal of power
supply to a good earth on the chassis or battery.
WARNING Connecting the jump-starting cables in the incorrect order
may cause serious injury.
CAUTION Not connecting jump-starting cables correctly may result in
damage to a vehicle’s electrical system.
CAUTION Care must be taken to avoid short-circuits when
jump-starting your Morgan.
NOTICE Care should be taken not to damage the brake pipes, wiring or any other
components. Care should be taken to avoid burns as the exhaust may be hot.
DANGER Lifting a vehicle when using a jack can be dangerous. If the
vehicle falls o the jack at any time you or others may be seriously injured
or even killed.
WARNING Never lift a car when the engine is running.
WARNING Before lifting the vehicle, ensure the road wheels in contact
with the ground are suitably chocked and the handbrake is engaged.
WARNING If using a jack, only lift the vehicle at the reinforced jacking points
(illustrated, red arrows) on the chassis. If using a garage post lift, position
the front support arms further forward under the chassis leg (amber arrows).
WARNING Morgan recommend that the vehicle is only be lifted using
a professional post lift or hydraulic ramp.
