8.7.8 Troubleshooting Leak Areas
Before repairing any leak, first read all of the steps within the applicable section. This will help to 
eliminate unnecessary disassembly and reassembly of a radio with multiple leaks. 
NOTES:All disassembly and reassembly methods can be found in Section 8.4. and Section 8.6.
8.7.8.1  Seal Interfaces 
• If leak occurs at one or more of the seal interfaces, disassemble the component(s) and inspect 
the interfaces to determine if there is any damage. If no damage is observed,
re-assemble the radio as directed.
• If damage has occurred, replacement parts will be needed.
8.7.8.2  Battery Contact Seal
• If leak occurs due to damage to the Battery Contact Seal (42), it will need to be replaced.
8.7.8.3  Front Housing
• If leak occurs through anywhere on the Front Housing, replace the Front Kit Assembly (A).
8.7.8.4  Keypad
• If leak occurs through the keypad (25), replace it.
8.7.8.5  Chassis 
• If leak occurs through the Main O-Ring (36), it will need to be replaced.
• If leak occurs elsewhere on the Chassis (41), it will need to be replaced.
