(2) Outdoor fan motor
• Check resistance across the terminals of the
fan motor. (All terminals must be disconnected
from the unit.)
- High resistance between CF2-1 and CF2-2
- Medium resistance between RL09-NO and
CF2-2
- Low resistance between RL09-NO and CF2-
1
• If the resistance reading does not meet the
above conditions, replace the fan motor.
9.8 Inspection of Compressor
(1) Compressor motor
• Check resistance across the terminals of the
compressor motor. (All terminals must be
disconnected from the unit.)
- High resistance between S (Start) and R
(Run)
- Medium resistance between S (Start) and C
(Common)
- Low resistance between R (Run) and C
(Common)
• If the resistance reading does not meet the above conditions, replace the compressor.
(2) Overload relay
• Check for continuity across two terminals of the
overload relay. At normal temperature, there
should be continuity across the terminals.
• If there is no continuity across the terminals,
replace the overload relay.
