Setting the Cutting Height
1, Selecttheheightpositionofthecuttingdeckby
placingthe deckriftleverinanyof the sixdifferent
cuttingheightnotchesonthe rightsideof the fender,
2, Adjustthe deckwheels,ifequipped,so thattheyare
between1A-inchand1/2-inchabovethe groundwhen
thetractorisona smooth,flatsurfacesuchas a
driveway,
WARNING: Keep hands and feet
away from the discharge open°
ing of the cutting deck.
NOTE:Onmodelssoequipped,the deckwheelsarean
anti:scalpfeatureofthedeckandare notdesignedto
supporttheweightof thecuttingdeck,

Stopping the Engine
Do not operate the
tractor if the interlock
system is malfunction-
ing. This system was
designed for your
safety and protection.
ifyou strike a foreign
object, stop the
engine, disconnect
the spark plug wire(s)
and ground against
the engine. Thoroughly
inspect the machine
for any damage. Repair
the damage before
restarting and operat-
ing.

thismanualforGasolineandOil fill-upinstructions,
1, insertthetractorkeyintothe ignitionswitch,
2, PlacethePTO(BladeEngage)leverinthe disen-
gaged(OFF)position,
3, Engagethetractor'sparkingbrake,
4, Activatethe chokecontrol
5, Turnthe ignitionkeyclockwiseto theSTARTposi-
tion,Aftertheenginestarts, releasethekey,itwill
returnto theONposition,
iMPORTANT:DoNOTholdthe keyin the START
positionforlongerthantensecondsat a time, Doingso
maycausedamageto yourengine'selectricstarter,
6, Aftertheenginestarts,deactivatethechokecontrol
andplacethe throttlecontrolin theFASTposition,
NOTE:Do NOTleavethechokecontrolonwhile operat-
ingthetractor,Doingso willresultina "rich"fuelmixture
andcausetheengineto run poorly,
