Changing Engine Oil
NOTE:Dependingonthe enginemodelfoundon your
tractor,itmaybenecessaryto removethe tractor'sside
panelinorderto replacethe oilfilter (if soequipped),
Fordrainingoil fromthe engine'scrankcaseofselect
modeltractors,a plasticoildrainsleeveis packedwith
thisOperator'sManualTodraintheoil, proceedas
follows:
1, Unscrewtheoilfill capand removethedipstickfrom
theoilfill tube,
2, Snapthe smallendof oildrainsleeveontothe oil
sump,SeeFigure20,
3, Removedrainpluganddrainoil intoa suitable
containerwitha capacityofno lessthan 64oz,
4, Servicethe oilfilter (if soequipped)asinstructedin
theseparateEngineOperator/OwnerManualpacked
withyourunit,
Performtheabovestepsin theoppositeorderafteroil has
finisheddraining,
5, Refillthe enginewith newmotoroilas instructedinthe
EngineOperator/OwnerManualpackedwithyour unit,
IMPORTANT:Refertothe EngineOperator/Owner
Manualpackedwithyourunit for informationregardingthe
quantityand properweightof motoroil
Air Cleaner
Servicethepre=cleaner,ifso equipped,andcartridge/air
cleanerelementas instructedin the EngineOperator/
OwnerManualpackedwithyourunit,
Spark PJug(s)
Thesparkplug(s)shouldbecleanedandthe gapreset
oncea season,Sparkplugreplacementis recommended
atthe startofeachmowingseason,Refertothe Engine
OperatodOwnerManualfor correctplugtypeandgap
specifications,
Lubrication

brakeandlift linkageat leastoncea seasonwithlightoil
Rear WheeJe
Therearwheelsshouldberemovedfromtheaxlesonce
a season,Lubricatethe axlesandthe rimswell withan
all=purposegreasebeforere=installingthem,
Front A×lee
Eachendof the tractor'sfrontpivotbarmaybeequipped
witha greasefitting,Lubricatewitha greasegun after
every25 hoursof tractoroperation,
C_eaning the Engine And Deck
Anyfuel oroil spilledonthemachineshouldbewiped
off promptly,DoNOTallowdebristoaccumulatearound
thecoolingfinsof theengineoron anyotherpartofthe
machine,
IMPORTANT:Theuseofa pressurewasherto cleanyour
tractoris NOTrecommended,It maycausedamageto
electricalcomponents,spindles,pulleys,bearingsor the
engine,
