Allbeltson yourtractorare subiectto wearandshould
bereplacedif anysignsofweararepresent,
IMPORTANT:TheV-beltsfoundon yourtractorare
speciallydesignedto engageanddisengagesafely,A
substitute(nomOEM)V_beltcan bedangerousby not
disengagingcompletely,Fora properworkingmachine,
usefactoryapprovedbelts,
Tochangeor replacethedeck beltandPTObeltonyour
tractor,proceedas follows:
1, Lowerthe deckbymovingthedeck liftleverintothe
bottomnotchon the rightfender,
2, Removethe beltguardsby removingthe selfqapping
screwsthatfastenthemtothedeck,
3, Removethe beltkeeperrodfromaroundthe engine
pulley,
4, inserta 3/8"-driveratchetwrench(setto loosen)into
thesquareholefoundin theidlerbracketonthe left
sideof the deck'ssurface,SeeFigure26,
5, Grasptheratchet'shandleandpivotit towardthe front
ofthe tractortorelievetensiononthebelt,
6, Withbelttensionrelieved,carefully removethe belt
from around the left-hand spindle pulley.
IMPORTANT:Carefullyallowtheratchetto pivotrearward
beforeremovingit fromthe squarehole,
WARNING: Avoid the possibility
of a pinching injury. Do not place
your fingers on the idler spring
or between the belt and a pulley
while removing the belt.
7, Removethe deckbeltfromaroundall pulleys,including
thedeckidlerpulley,
8, Routethe newbeltsas shownin andFigure27 and28,
9, Remountthe beltguardsremovedearlier,
