To replace the fuel filter:
1. Siphon the fuel out of the fuel tank.
2. Remove the front fuel tank shroud using a 10
mm wrench.
See Figure 1.6.
3. Remove the fuel line from the fuel tank nipple:
3a. Squeeze the tabs on the fuel line clamp with
a pair of pliers while sliding the clamp down
the fuel line away from the nipple.
See Figure 1.7.
3b. Gently work the fuel line off of the nipple.
4. Remove the fuel tank nipple using a 17 mm
wrench.
5. Install a new filter by following the above steps in
reverse order.
NOTE: Apply a small amount of releasable
thread locking compound such as Loctite® 242
(blue) and tighten the filter by hand and the an
additional 3/4 to 1 full turn to compress the gas
-
ket.
