  If the burner output on the high setting is too low, accompanied by a rumbling noise and a flute ring blue flame at the burner surface, it could be due to several factors: lack of gas, a pinched supply hose, a dirty or clogged orifice, spider webs or other matter in the venturi tube, or a propane regulator in a 'low flow' state. Check the gas level in the propane cylinder and reposition the supply hose if necessary. Clean the burner orifice and venturi tube. Ensure the lighting procedure is followed carefully: all gas grill valves must be in the off position when the tank valve is turned on, and turn the tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize.

  Excessive flare-ups and uneven heat can be caused by sear plates installed incorrectly, improper preheating, or excessive grease and ash build-up on the sear plates and in the drip pan. Ensure the sear plates are installed with the holes towards the front and the slots on the bottom, following the assembly instructions. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes. Clean the sear plates and drip pan regularly, and do not line the pan with aluminum foil; refer to the cleaning instructions.

Why is there low heat/low flame when the valve is turned to high on my Napoleon BIPRO 500?

  Low heat or flame can occur due to several reasons. For propane grills, ensure you are following the correct lighting procedure, with all gas grill valves in the off position when the tank valve is turned on, and turn the tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize. For natural gas grills, the supply line might be undersized, and the pipe must be sized according to installation code. For both propane and natural gas grills, improper preheating can be the cause. Preheat the grill with both main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes.

Why does the 'paint' appear to be peeling inside my Napoleon BIPRO 500 lid?

  The finish on the lid and hood is porcelain, and will not peel. What appears to be peeling is hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards that flake off. Regular cleaning, as described in the cleaning instructions, will prevent this.

  If the rear and side burners on your Napoleon Grill won't light with the igniter but will light with a match, replace the battery with a premium heavy-duty one or check if it is installed correctly. Also, check that the electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminal on the back of the igniter and that the lead wires from the module to the ignition switch are firmly pushed onto their respective terminals. Closing the air shutter slightly might also help.
