9.2 Using the AUDIO 8 DJ with TRAKTOR Scratch
Besides its original purpose as part of the digital vinyl system TRAKTOR Scratch,
you can also use the AUDIO 8 DJ as a playback sound card in internal playback
mode.
To achieve this, open p refereNces > A uDio s etup > s ouNDcArD and choose AUDIO 8
DJ from the AuDio DeVice dropdown menu.
Now you can load, prepare and play tracks, but without the possibility to pre-listen
to them. There are no custom routing options in TRAKTOR Scratch.
9.3 Using the AUDIO 8 DJ with a MIDI Controller in your
DJ Setup with TRAKTOR 3 or TRAKTOR Scratch
Since the AUDIO 8 DJ offers a MIDI input and output, you are able to include a MIDI
mixer to your DJ setup built around TRAKTOR 3 or TRAKTOR Scratch. Features
formerly controlled via h otkeys or the computer mouse can now be controlled by
turning a knob, moving a fader or pressing a button on a hardware device, which
looks and feels much better.
To achieve this, please open p refereNces > h otkey & miDi s etups > miDi i NterfAces
and double-click the entries AuDio 8 DJ iN and AuDio 8 DJ out. An x showing up
in the ActiVe columns indicates that the MIDI In and Out ports of the AUDIO 8 DJ
are active now.
Now connect your MIDI device to the AUDIO 8 DJ, using MIDI cables.
