WARRANTYPERIOD
NavistarInc.warrantsyourmedium-heavydutydieselengine
conformswithapplicableemissionregulationsandisfreefrom
defectsinmaterialsandworkmanshipwhichwouldcausesuch
enginetofailtoconformwithapplicableemissionregulationsfor
thefollowingwarrantyperiod(whichevercomesrst):
•5years
•100,000miles(160,000km)
•Orifcoveredbyanybasicorextendedwarranty(ifgreater
thanabove)
Yourmedium-heavydutydieselengineconformstoU.S.
EnvironmentalProtectionAgencyregulationsforemission
systems.
Theenginemodelyear,serviceclass,andrequiredemission
informationisontheemissionlabelattachedontopofthevalve
cover.Thiswarrantyisbasedontheenginemodelyear,notthe
modelyearofthevehicle.Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthe
datethenewvehicleisdeliveredtotherstretailpurchaser.
REQUIREDMAINTENANCE
Asthevehicleowner,youareresponsibleforallrequired
maintenancedescribedinthismanual.Navistarrecommends
thatyouretainallmaintenancereceipts.Navistarwillnotdeny
anemissionwarrantyclaimsolelybecauseyouhavenorecord
ofmaintenance.However,aclaimmaybedeniedifyourfailure
toperformpropermaintenanceresultedinthefailureofa
warrantedpartandyoucannotprovideappropriateevidence
ofmaintenance.T akeyourvehicletoanauthorizedservice
providerwhenaproblemoccurs.
WARRANTYREPAIRSANDSERVICE
Allemissioncontrolsystempartsprovendefectiveduringnormal
usewillberepairedorreplacedduringthewarrantyperiod.
Warrantyrepairsandservicewillbedonebyanauthorized
serviceproviderwithnochargeforparts,labor,anddiagnostics.
Warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedinareasonabletime,not
toexceed30days.Navistarmaydenywarrantycoverageif
yourvehicleoraparthasfailedduetoabuse,neglect,improper
maintenance,orunapprovedmodications.
