10.Aftertheenginehasreachedoperatingtemperature,theoil
pressure,atahighidle,shouldbe50psi(344kPa)minimum.
Ifoilpressuredoesnotmeettheminimumlimit,stopthe
engineandcorrecttheproblem.
NOTE:Ifenginestartsandthenstops,repeatengine
startingprocedure.Ifmorethanthreeattemptsare
required,correctcauseofno-start.
EmergencyStarting
WARNING
Topreventpersonalinjuryordeath,donotuse
etherstartinguidtostartengine.
WARNING
Topreventpersonalinjuryordeath,dothe
followingwhenjumpstartinganengine:
•Weareyeprotection.
•Donotsmoke
•Keepamesorsparksawayfrombattery.
•Protectagainstinhalinghydrogengasfumes
frombattery.
•Usea12voltsystemwithanegativeground.
•Donotexceed16.0volts,iftheignitionswitch
isturnedtoOFF,ACCorONduringengine
cranking.
CAUTION
Topreventenginedamage,donotallowmetal
toolstocontactpositiveterminalofbattery.
1.Setparkingbrakeandshifttransmissiontoparkorneutral.
2.Shutofflights,heater,airconditioner,andotherelectrical
loadsinbothvehicles.
3.Makesurevehiclesarenottouching.
WARNING

connectjumpercableforpositivebattery
terminalsrst.
4.Connectoneendoftherstjumpercabletothepositive(+)
terminalofthedeadbatteryortothepositive(+)terminalof
thejumpstartstud.Connecttheotherendtothepositive(+)
terminaloftheboosterbattery.
