Selection
of
Features
As
noted
above,
there
are
three
primary
software
programs
which
are
diplayed
in
the
main
MENU.
The
functions
of
each
software
feature
are:
BASIC
Used
to
create,
modify,
execute
and
customized
BASIC
programs.
TEXT
Used
to
create
and
modify
files,
such
as
documents,
memos,
or
any
other
type
of
text.
TELCOM
Allows
you
to
use
the
PC-8201
for
multicomputer
communication
through
a
telephone
modem
with
the
RS-232C
interface.
The
TELCOM
feature,
in
conjunc¬
tion
with
the
RS-232C
interface,
also
provides
for
communication
between
the
PC-8201
and
other
peripheral
devices.
When
the
PC-8201
is
turned
ON
it
is
generally
in
the
MENU
mode.
The
selection
of
these
features
is
done
through
the
MENU:
When
the
power
switch
of
the
PC-8201
is
turned
ON
the
word
BASIC
will
be
displayed
in
reverse
image
on
the
second
line
of
the
screen.
This
reverse
image
is
known
as
the
cursor
of
the
MENU.
