Overview

The Nice Fan4-Control is a Z-Wave (800 series) enabled fan coil thermostat designed for indoor temperature control in 4-pipe fan coil systems. It can read room temperature and automatically control fan speed based on the temperature difference. This product is compatible with Nice hubs equipped with Z-Wave radio, such as Yubii Home, Yubii Home Pro, FIBARO Home Center 3 Lite, and Home Center 3.

Function Description

The Fan4-Control thermostat offers various operational modes and settings to manage your fan coil system effectively.

On/Off Setting: When powered on, the device displays "OFF." Press the power button to enter the working interface. To turn it off, press the power button again; "OFF" will be displayed, and all outputs will be turned off.

Timing Power Off: To set a timing power off, turn the device on, then long press the power button and the mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds. This will enter the timing setting interface. Use the up or down arrows to adjust the setting value, then press the mode button to save the setting and return to normal operation. The timing icon "OFF" will be displayed on the screen. The setting range is 00:30-12:00, with a half-hour gap and a minimum unit of half an hour. To cancel timing power off, manually turn the device Off/On or set the timer value to 00:00.

Panel Lock: To activate or deactivate the key lock, long press the up and down arrows simultaneously for 3 seconds. This function is available even in Off mode. When the key protection icon appears on the screen, it indicates that the keys are locked, and all key operations are ignored. If the icon is not present, all key actions are available. This function can be disabled by setting parameter E15 to Off.

Fan Speed Setting: During normal operation, press the fan speed change button to switch among available fan speeds: "Low," "Medium," "High," and "Auto." In Ventilation mode, the "Auto" speed choice is not available.

Auto Fan Speed Mode: In this mode, the fan speed automatically adjusts based on the difference between the setpoint temperature and the actual room temperature. The fan is activated only when the valve is opened.

Fan Automation:

  • Cooling Mode: If the room temperature is less than or equal to the setting temperature, the valve closes automatically, and the fan stops. If the room temperature is greater than the setting temperature by +1°C, the fan turns on in low speed. At +2°C, it turns on in medium speed, and at +3°C, it turns on in high speed.
  • Heating Mode: If the room temperature is greater than or equal to the setting temperature, the valve closes automatically, and the fan stops. If the room temperature is less than the setting temperature by -1°C, the fan turns on in low speed. At -2°C, it turns on in medium speed, and at -3°C, it turns on in high speed.
    • Note: Unless parameter E13 is switched to ON, the fan stops when the room temperature reaches the setting temperature. The fan operates only if the valve opens.

Temperature Setting: During normal operation, use the up or down arrows to adjust the setpoint temperature. The default range is 5 to 37 degrees Celsius, with each button press changing the value by 0.5°C. Press the mode button to confirm the setting, or wait for 8 seconds without any operation for the device to automatically return to normal working interface and save the modification. When setting the temperature in Auto mode, press the mode button to switch between Cooling and Heating modes, then use the up or down arrows to save the setting and return to normal working interface.

Temperature Sensor Error: If the temperature sensor malfunctions, "0.0" will be displayed, the fan will stop, and the valve will close automatically.

Working Mode Setting: Under the normal working interface, press the mode button to switch between cooling, heating, and ventilation modes sequentially.

Fan Manual Control: If the fan speed is manually set, the device still auto-controls the fan in the following situations:

  • Cooling Mode: If room temperature is less than or equal to the setting temperature, the valve closes, and the fan stops. If room temperature is greater than or equal to the setting temperature +1°C, the valve and fan open.
  • Heating Mode: If room temperature is greater than the setting temperature, the valve closes, and the fan stops. If room temperature is less than or equal to the setting temperature -1°C, the valve and fan open.
  • Ventilation Mode: The fan operates normally according to the set fan speed, and the valve is forced to close. The fan output is independent of the setting temperature in ventilation mode, and auto fan speed mode functions are not available.

Manual Fan Speed Mode: If the fan speed is manually set, it can be overridden in certain conditions to stop the fan:

  • Cooling Mode: When room temperature is less than the setpoint temperature, the valve closes, and the fan stops. When room temperature is greater than the setpoint temperature +1°C, the valve and fan start (with the manually set speed).
  • Heating Mode: When room temperature is greater than the setpoint temperature, the valve closes, and the fan stops. When room temperature is less than the setpoint temperature -1°C, the valve and fan start (with the manually set speed).
  • Ventilation Mode: The fan works according to the set fan speed, and the valve is forced to close. The fan speed is independent of the setpoint temperature in ventilation mode since auto mode is not available.

Auto Mode: If room temperature is greater than or equal to the setting temperature +1°C, the fan turns on, the heat valve closes, and the cool valve opens. If room temperature is less than or equal to the setting temperature -1°C, the fan turns on, the heat valve opens, and the cool valve closes.
