! WARNING
1. Do not disassemble this product.
Do not disassemble this product. Doing so may result in electric shock or failure. Any failure or
damage caused by such action will not be covered under warranty.
Never attempt to disassemble any part of this product unless you are instructed to do so in this
manual. If there is a problem with this product, contact your Nikon representative.
2. Use the AC adapter supplied with the product.
An AC adapter is used to supply power to this product. Be sure to use the AC adapter supplied with
this product.
The AC adapter input is rated for 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz. It can be connected to an AC socket
with various voltages. However, do not use this product in an environment where the supply voltage
varies widely.
3. Use the specified power cord.
Use only the specified power cord when connecting the AC adapter to an AC power supply.
Use of any other power cord may cause malfunction or overheating of this product, or fire. This
product is classified as a Class I electric shock protection device, designed to be connected to an
AC socket that has a protective ground terminal.
Refer to Chapter 6, “Specifications” for the power cord specification.
When plugging in the power cord, to minimize the risk of electrocution, make sure that main
power switch of the device is off (set to the “O” side).
4. Ultraviolet light radiation
When lit, this product radiates ultraviolet light that can damage the eyes and skin. Do not view light
coming from the product. Direct viewing of the light might result in blindness.
5. Do not block the vents on the product.
Ensure that the vents on the top and bottom of the main body of the product remain unobstructed.
Do not place objects on the project, and do not cover it with anything. Doing so may inhibit heat
dissipation and cause overheating.
6. Photobiological safety
This product is designed and manufactured in compliance with the “Photobiological safety of lamps
and lamp systems” (IEC62471) specified by IEC.
The photobiological safety for the light emitted from this product is classified in the following risk
groups:
The following table shows the distance (hazard distance) from the aperture when the risk group
classification is the Exempt Group, which does not cause photobiological hazards:
Risk group classification Hazard distance
UV hazard Risk group 3 0.9 m or more
Retinal blue-light hazard Risk group 2 4.1 m or more
7. Do not look into the LED light.
A WARNING label indicating photobiological safety (as shown below) is attached near the
light-emitting hole of this product (see the figure in Chapter 1, “Names of Parts” for the location of
the label) to call the attention to the following:
When the LED is turned on, a strong light is emitted from the light-emitting hole. Never look into
the LED while the LED is turned on. LED illumination is hazardous to your eyes.
