! CAUTION
1. Shut down the power
When you assemble or clean this product, or plug or unplug cables, to minimize the risk of
electrocution or product failure, make sure that the main power switch of the main body is off (set to
the “O” side) and the power cord of the AC adapter is disconnected from the power socket.
When plugging in the AC adapter, make sure that the power switch of the main body is off (set to
the “O” side).
2. Do not allow this product to become wet. Do not allow any foreign material to enter this
product.
Do not allow this product to come into contact with water or any chemical solution. Spilling water o
r
chemical solution over this product may short-circuit the product and cause failure or overheating.
Similarly, if any foreign material enters the product, the product may short-circuit.
In the event that water or chemical solution is spilled over the product, immediately turn off the main
power switch (set it to the “O” side), and then disconnect the AC adapter (at this point, pay attention
not to touch the product with wet hands). Then, wipe the moisture off the product by using a dry
cloth, etc.
In the event of ingress of water or foreign matter, stop using this product and contact your nearest
Nikon representative.
3. Do not place objects on the product.
Do not place any objects on the product.
In particular, placing a heavy object may cause deformation, damage, or failure of this product.
Never place an object on the product as it may also fall and cause injury.
4. Do not turn on the product while it is covered.
Do not turn on the product while it is covered (with a cover or cloth, for example). Doing so may
inhibit heat dissipation, leading to malfunction or fire due to overheating. Additionally, do not cover
this product with a cloth, etc., during operation. Doing so may raise the temperature inside the
product, and lead to failure.
5. Cautions when assembling the product
When attaching this product to an epi fluorescence attachment or microscope system, be careful
not to injure your fingers or hands.
6. Cautions when cleaning the product
Do not attempt to clean any parts if you are not instructed to do so in this manual. In particular,
do not clean the optical components inside the device from the light-emitting hole. Doing so may
affect the accuracy and performance of this product.
When cleaning this product, do not use organic solvent (such as alcohol, ether, or thinner) on
coated parts, plastic parts, or printed parts. Use of such solvents may cause discoloration or
removal of printed characters.
Note that the medicinal alcohol used for decontamination is highly flammable. Care must be
taken when operating the power switch in the presence of such chemicals, and pay special
attention to any potential fire hazards.
Handle medicinal alcohol according to the precautions provided by the manufacturer.
If organic solvent such as medicinal alcohol is used, make sure to wear fingerstalls or gloves to
avoid touching the solvent with bare skin.
