<Purpose of cleaning>
To remove dirt from the surface of photoconductive drums (the photosensitive surface)
<Cleaning materials and effect>
Item name
Cleaning properties
Effect Remarks
Cleaning properties:
: Cleaned well
: Cleaned with hard scrubbing
Wipe with a
dry item
Wipe with
alcohol
Gauze
Tissue paper Must be soft
<Notes>
The alcohol used for wiping must be ethyl alcohol (ethanol). Be aware that rotating an image
drum before complete evaporation of alcohol causes toner adherence, which is a factor to
produce dirt.
Wipe the surface evenly.
Since wiping with dry tissue paper requires harder scrubbing to remove dirt, be careful not to
damage photoconductive drums.
Be careful not to expose the photosensitive surface to the light of a fluorescent lamp etc. for
15 minutes or more during wiping.
It is impossible to rotate an image drum (hereinafter referred to as an ID) singly. To clean the
entire circumference of the photosensitive surface, use DRUM 1/N ROTAION.
