User authentication
When a user is involved in multiple projects, to perform accounting for
each project, you are recommended to register the project names.
For the PIN code or the login name, it is recommended to use the login
name (user name) used by each user to log in the computer.
It is not necessary to congure the printer driver sheet for print
authentication when the login name used to log in the computer is the
same as the login name (PIN code) used to log in the Printer.
Note
When registering users from the operation panel, only alphanumeric
characters can be entered. To enter the other characters, register users from
a Web browser or the user maintenance tool.
A user name and PIN code or login name must be entered.
A maximum of 3000 users can be registered.
We recommend you back up user registration information. Use the user
maintenance tool to back up user registration information. For details, see
the User’s Manual of the user maintenance tool.
The same login name cannot be used for supervisors, user administrators
and users.
A LPR identication name must be set when using LPR Data for User
Identication. Specify a unique string of characters for the LPR identication
name for each user.
