Once the threaded retaining ring has been loosened
with the spanner tool, continue to unscrew the ring by
hand until it disengages from the threads of the frame
of the Light Exit Assembly (see Figure 161).

Using a suitable lens suction tool (item 9 of Appendix
1), carefully lift and remove the glass field-exit lens from
the frame of the Light Exit Assembly (see Figure 162).

Use a lens duster bulb (item 11 of Appendix 1) to
remove as much loose dust and debris as possible from
the glass field-exit lens (see Figure 163).

Use a suitable lens-cleaning solution and lint-free tissue
(items 4 and 5 of Appendix 1) to carefully clean the
glass field-exit lens (see Figure 164).

Using a suitable lens suction tool (item 9 of Appendix
1), carefully place the glass field-exit lens back into the
recess in the frame of the Light Exit Assembly (see
Figure 165).

Carefully engage the threaded retaining ring with the
threads in the frame of the Light-Exit Assembly and
tighten it until it is finger tight, being careful not to
smudge the glass lens (see Figure 166).
