8 Attaching the Light Shield Sheet
} When a low-power objective is used in fluorescence observation, the
fluorescence image may be degraded by the reflected light from the
condenser and the area around it. In this case, use the light shield
sheet.
1. Lower the condenser by turning the condenser knob.
2. Insert the light shield sheet @ into the space on the stage.
} When switching the observation method to transmitted light observation
(phase contrast, Nomarski, etc.), the light shield sheet @ should simply
be placed on the window lens 2 only during fluorescence observation.
