What causes the BX-UCB’s Z/AF to get into error status on my Olympus BX61WI Microscope?
    • J
      Joshua TravisSep 14, 2025
If the BX-UCB’s Z/AF gets into the error status immediately after the control box is turned on, and no operation is possible on your Olympus Microscope, turn the control box off and then on again to perform the initialization operation, because emergency stop is activated because the focus adjustment knob is operated during initialization.

Why does the field of view become only slightly brighter when the voltage is raised on my Olympus BX61WI?
    • D
      Donna WardSep 16, 2025
If the field of view becomes only slightly brighter when the voltage is raised on your Olympus Microscope, it might be due to: * The condenser is centered incorrectly, so center it correctly. * The condenser is in too low a position, so adjust the condenser height.

What to do if the field of view is obscured on my Olympus Microscope?
    • N
      Nicole TaylorNov 22, 2025
If the field of view of your Olympus Microscope is obscured or not evenly illuminated, consider the following: * Ensure the light path selector knob is set to a click position according to its purpose. * Confirm the revolving nosepiece is in a click position. * Re-install the condenser if it is incorrectly installed. * Secure the revolving nosepiece by pushing in the sliding dovetail all the way until the stopper. * Ensure the filter turret or filter slider is correctly engaged in the light path. * Engage the frost filter correctly in the light path. * Use an appropriate condenser for the objective in use. * Adjust the centering of the condenser. * Open the field iris diaphragm until it circumscribes the field of view. * Push the halogen bulb terminals all the way into...

Why is the visibility of observed image poor on my Olympus BX61WI?
    • J
      Jennifer WiseNov 24, 2025
Poor visibility of the observed image on your Olympus Microscope, including lack of sharpness, poor contrast, and poorly visible details, can be due to several factors: * Replace the objective with a specified objective for UIS series if the current one is not designed for it. * Adjust the condenser height if it is set too low. * Open the aperture iris diaphragm sufficiently if it is closed too much. * Ensure the revolving nosepiece clicks into place correctly. * Remove any air from the objective front lens. * Ensure the specimen, such as a brain slice, is correctly fixed. * Remove any bubbles attached to the objective front lens. * Supply sufficient solution in the petri dish. * Place the petri dish correctly on the stage. * Clean any dirt/dust on the objective front ...
