10 Attaching the Revolving Nosepiece
(Fig. 54)
The interface cables @ cannot be inserted after the revolving
nosepiece is attached on the microscope frame. Therefore,
before installing the revolving nosepiece, connect one of the
motorized cable connectors and distribute the other connector
to the rear panel of the microscope frame by passing it through
the hole on it.
} When detaching the revolving nosepiece connected to the microscope
frame, first disconnect the connector from the rear panel of the microscope.
1. Lower the stage.
2. Slightly loosen the revolving nosepiece clamping screw 2.
Do not loosen it too much because the revolving nosepiece cannot be
attached otherwise.
3. Hold the revolving nosepiece so that the revolving nosepiece mount
dovetail 3 is horizontal and slide the dovetail all the way into the dovetail
groove on the revolving nosepiece arm |.
4. Tighten the revolving nosepiece clamping screw 2.

8 Attaching the Eyepieces

Fit the eyepiece into each sleeve as far as it goes.
· The U-BI30-2 binocular tube does not have the positioning
grooves and therefore cannot use eyepieces equipped with
positioning pins.
· When using an eyepiece with micrometer disk, insert it in the
right eyepiece sleeve. When doing so, make sure that the eye-
piece positioning pin @ fits into the notch 2 on the eyepiece
sleeve.

11 Attaching the Condenser

When using a dish plate for observing a dish sample, remove
the stopper screw @ of the stage adapter mount before the
following steps (see page 23 for details).
} For details on the BX3-UCD8A motorized universal condenser, see the
instruction manual provided with it.
1 Turn the condenser height adjustment knob @ to lower the condenser
holder to its lowest position.
2. Fully loosen the condenser clamping knob 2.
3. Position the condenser so that the aperture scale is located in front.
Gently slide the condenser along the dovetail all the way until it is
stopped.
· When attaching a swing-out condenser with a positioning pin
at the back such as the U-SC3, etc., attach by pushing it into
the groove in the condenser sleeve.
· When attaching a condenser with swing-out top lens, swing out
the top lens out of the way before inserting the condenser.
4. Tighten the condenser clamping knob and gently raise the condenser
holder to its highest position.
