You can adjust exposure manually by +/– 2 (in increments of approx. 1/3). If
you want a white object to appear as white as possible, adjust + to increase
the exposure. If you want a black object to appear as black as possible,
adjust – to decrease the exposure.

Set the Mode dial to P, A, S, S-Prg

Unless OFF is selected in All Reset, the setting will be canceled when the
power is turned off (p. 148).
If the subject is mostly dark, the exposure compensation does not function
effectively. In such a case, display the recorded picture and check the
brightness.
You cannot correct the amount of light in this mode. To adjust brightness,
refer to page 109.
