Using the Bertrand’s Lens
(Fig. 13)
1. To engage the Bertrand’s lens into the light path, slide the Bertrand’s lens
engaging/focusing knob 1 horizontally so that the ) (IN) indication comes
on the front.
The Bertrand’s lens can be disengaged from the light path by bringing
the ( (OUT) indication on the front.
2. To adjust the focus of the conoscopic image, turn the Bertrand’s lens
engaging/focusing knob 1.

Using the Analyzer
(Fig. 13)
1. To engage the analyzer in the light path, push in the analyzer engaging/
rotation knob 2 () position).
The analyzer can be disengaged from the light path by pulling out the
knob (( position).
2. Loosening the analyzer clamping knob 3 makes it possible to rotate the
analyzer by up to 180°.
The analyzer can be rotated using the analyzer engaging/rotation knob
2 or analyzer rotation assist knob 4.
The rotation angle can be read on the rotation scale 5. Readout down to
6’ is possible by using the vernier 6.
