Though the battery life depends on the operating environment and frequency of use,
replacement of the battery is recommended whenever the battery operation time becomes
very short.
Contact Olympus about changing the battery.
For details about how to load and remove the battery, see “1 Using the battery” (page 27).
Apply the silicon grease to the spare O-ring provided with the optical adapter and replace it.
Replace the O-ring periodically.
The position to attach the O-ring differs between 6-mm type ,4-mm type and 6.2-mm type.
Refer to “2-2 Distal end/optical adapter nomenclature” (page18) and “3-5 Attaching and
removing the optical adapter” (page30), and attach the O-ring at the correct position.
Dirt or other foreign objects on the insertion tube:
Wipe with a clean soft cloth.
Dirty water, machine oil or other liquid on the insertion tube:
Do not use a hard cloth or hard brush, but wipe it with a soft cloth or cotton swab, and then
wash thoroughly with a piece of gauze or other material moistened with a neutral detergent.
Then, use a clean, soft piece of soft gauze moistened with clean water, and wipe the insertion
tube to dry all moisture.
Clean the insertion tube immediately after pulling out the insertion tube. Leaving
the insertion tube very dirty for a long period can cause it to become corroded.
