This function enabtes the camera to focus and
shoot subjects at close distances.
Press "_.
Using the self-timer
After the shutter button is pressed all the way
down, the picture is taken after a time delay. By
securing the camera on a tripod, this function
enables the user to take a picture of himself/
herself at a distance from the camera ('_) or to
take pictures without the camera shake (_).
Press 9.
2 Use (_) to select the setting option,
and press the _ button to set.
Use _2_ to select the setting
option, and press the _ button to
set.
When the zoom is at the widest (W) setting.

This cancels the self-timer.
After setting, when the shutter
button is pressed alt the way
down, the self-time tamp turns
on for approx. 10 seconds, and
then blinks for approx. 2 seconds
before taking the picture.

To cancel the self-timer after it starts
Press _ again.
_ The self-timer cannot be set when [AF

(p. 34) is set to [PRE-CAPTURE ON].
