7.2. HMS X-gateway Setup
Set up the HMS X-gateway.
7.2.1. Hardware Settings
Set the hardware switches on the X-gateway and connect the cables.
Precautions for Correct Use
Make sure the power supplies are OFF before setting up. If either of them is ON, the
settings described in the following steps and subsequent procedures may not be applicable.
Make sure Power supply for X-
gateway and Power supply for
switching hub are OFF.
Check the positions of the
hardware switches and
connectors on X-gateway by
referring to the figure on the
right.
*In combination with the other
network interface, the
EtherNet/IP interface may be
mounted at the bottom end of

Turn OFF all IP Address
Configuration Switches.
Connect Power supply for X-
gateway to Power Connector
(X3).
*For information on the power
supply connection to X-
gateway, refer to 3.2.1 Power
Connector (X3) of the
Anybus® X-gateway
TM
User
Connect Switching hub to
Power supply and then to X1.1
on X-gateway with a LAN cable.
