First Time Setup
This section explains the settings that you need to make before using the AV receiver for the very first time.
With the supplied speaker setup microphone, the Audyssey 2EQ function can measure the number of speakers con-
nected, their sizes, crossover frequencies, and distances from the listening position, and then calculate the optimal
speaker settings for your listening environment.
Before using this function, connect and position all of your speakers.
Measurement Points
To create a listening area in which several people can enjoy home theater simultaneously, the Audyssey 2EQ function
takes measurements at three points within the listening area:
A
First measurement point
This is the center point of the listening area, or the listening position if it’s just one person.

Second measurement point
The right side of the listening area.
C
Third measurement point
The left side of the listening area.

From the examples below, choose the listening area that best matches yours and place the microphone accordingly when
prompted.
