Handling Discs
Differences in disc composition
DVDs
All discs are divided into smaller, more manageable sections so that you can find specific content
more easily.
More specifically, discs are divided into one or more titles. Each title may be further divided into
several chapters. Occasionally, a chapter may contain index points, effectively dividing the chap-
ter into several parts as well.
Video CDs and audio CDs
Video CDs and audio CDs are divided into a number of tracks. In rare cases, a track may contain
a number of index points, effectively dividing the track into several parts.
MP3
MP3 (MPEG1 Audio Layer 3) is a compressed audio file format. Files are recognized by their file
extension “.mp3” or “.MP3”. Folders that contain MP3 files are automatically numbered F_001,
F_002, etc. Tracks within folders are automatically numbered T_001, T_002, etc.
