the film sticks to the printhead during any print, it is necessary to stop printing and clean
immediately.
CLEANING PROCEDURE
1. Turn Foil Xpress Direct OFF.
2. Remove the film from the Feeder and Take-Up spools.
3. Load roll of Printhead Cleaning Paper on Feed spool.
4. Insert empty take-up core on Take-Up spool and attach with adhesive tape.
5. Press the Mode button (2) times. This will put the printer in Cleaning Mode.
6. Press the Print Button. Foil Xpress Direct will print a block pattern.
7. Repeat by pressing the Print Button ten times. This operation removes any residue on
the printhead.
8. Reload film and resume operation.
Cleaning Roller
Use a brush to clean the bottom roller -
especially if you are experiencing problems
feeding.
TROUBLESHOOTING ERROR MESSAGES
If Head Temperature is selected under Printer
Properties, the Ready light will blink repeatedly
until the printhead heats up to temperature.
This is normal & will continue as the printhead
heats & cools. Set Head Temperature to OFF when testing & troubleshooting Errors.
The Ready light will also blink to signal Errors, but in this case, the blinks are in a pattern
and an alarm will signal the error. For example, the Ready light will blink twice - then
pause -- then blink twice again -- to reflect a Z-Axis Motion Error. An alarm will signal
an Error.
One blink - Paper Feed or No Paper Error
This Error indicates that either the job is not complete and there is no paper in the hopper
or the item being printed has not cleared the Sensor Driver Roller.
Two blinks - Z-Axis Motion Error
This Error often indicates a mechanical problem with printhead (Z-Axis) mechanism or an
electrical problem with the Z-Axis Home Sensor.
Three blinks - Printhead Temperature Error
This Error often indicates an electrical problem with the printhead or printhead cable.
Four blinks - Head Calibration Error
This Error often indicates an electrical problem with the printhead or printhead cable.

Czyszczenie
głowicy drukującej
Głowica drukująca powinna być czyszczona zgodnie
z Procedurą czyszczenia, opisaną szczegółowo
poniżej, po wykonaniu 5000 wydruków. Z upływem
czasu pozostałości folii gromadzą się na głowicy
drukującej. Drukarka Foil Direct nie drukuje
prawidłowo, jeśli na głowicy znajdują się
jakiekolwiek zanieczyszczenia. Również w
wypadku, gdy dojdzie do przyklejenia folii do
głowicy podczas druku, niezbędne jest
natychmiastowe zatrzymanie drukowania i
przeprowadzenie czyszczenia.
Procedura
czyszczenia
1) Wyłączyć drukarkę.
2) Zdjąć folię ze szpuli dostawczej i odbiorczej.
3) Założyć rolkę papieru czyszczącego do głowicy
(Printhead Cleaning Paper) na szpulę dostawczą.
4) Włożyć pusty rdzeń odbiorczy na szpulę
odbiorczą i przymocować papier czyszczący taśmą
samoprzylepną.
5) Wcisnąć przycisk Trybu (2) razy. Spowoduje to
przestawienie drukarki w Tryb czyszczenia.
6) Wcisnąć przycisk Druku. Drukarka Foil Direct
wydrukuje wzór blokowy.
7) Powtórzyć naciskając przycisk Druku dziesięć
razy. Ta operacja usuwa wszelkie pozostałości z
głowicy drukującej.
8) Założyć ponownie folię i powrócić do pracy.
Czyszczenie rolki
Użyć pędzla do czyszczenia dolnej rolki, zwłaszcza,
gdy pojawi się jakiś problem z podawaniem.
