2 Dispatcher Activities
How the User Interface is Organized
The user interface is organized into pages, sections, and features, which help you accomplish your daily activities.
This table lists the user interface elements and gives the action you can perform with it.
User Interface Element Action You Can Perform
Resource tree Organize the elements of your organization—both personnel and equipment, into hierarchical groups,
usually based on geographic location.
Work area View the resource’s schedule in the work area. Expand the Resource tree and select a resource for
which you want to view the details.
Lower work area Drill down the schedule in the work area to review the schedule, and drag and drop tasks from one
resource to another.
Menu tabs Access the frequently-used pages. You can configure the way you want to display the tabs, by choosing
a theme on the User options page.
You can use custom properties on any of the Core Application pages. When custom property values exceed 255 bytes,
the entire value is shown in the activity details, API responses, and Outbound Messages. Only the first 255 bytes are
used for search, visibility conditions, activity inventory list columns and their sorting, and travel, activity duration, visit,
Work Zone Keys. If you create a new condition with long values, only the first 255 bytes are used with historic data; all
the long values that are added after you create the new condition will use the full set of data.
Redwood Theme
You can use Oracle's new Redwood theme. When you apply the new Redwood theme, the Core Application shows the
new design colors, icons and more.
The Redwood theme provides the following characteristics:
• New colors for header with Redwood stripe
• Updated icons in header and action menu
• Changed form for avatar element
• Action bar shows under 'Actions' button on Technician's screens
• Updated fonts and buttons on Technician's screens
About Page
When the new Redwood theme is applied, the About page will be displayed with a new design based on the Redwood
theme. For all existing themes, the older design will be displayed.
