Why is the Sync Status LED red on my Orolia EdgeSync Switch?
    • C
      Carlos MayAug 16, 2025
If the Sync Status LED on your Orolia Switch is red, it could mean a few things. First, if the MCE is in GNSS Only mode, ensure the GNSS LED is green. Second, if in PTP Only mode, check that Port 1 or Port 2 is connected to a PTP Grand Master and that the Grand Master is sending PTP timing messages. Third, if operating in GNSS/PTP Primary/Secondary mode, verify both GNSS (GNSS LED is Green) and PTP connections. Fourth, if you're using external 1PPS/ToD inputs, connect the input sources on the EdgeSync Front Panel and enable 1PPS In and ToD In on the Interface :: GNSS webpage. Finally, check the Alarms/Events Tab Webpage for any EdgeSync alarms affecting the timing inputs.

What to do if the Sync Status LED is amber on my Orolia EdgeSync Switch?
    • M
Mr. Levi Braun MDSep 12, 2025
An amber Sync Status LED on your Orolia Switch indicates a synchronization issue. If the MCE operates in GNSS Only mode, ensure the GNSS LED is green. If in PTP Only mode, verify that PTP Port 1 or Port 2 is connected to a PTP Grand Master time source. It's also possible that the MCE synchronization loop control system hasn't converged yet; wait 2 to 15 minutes for it to synchronize. Finally, check the Alarms/Events Tab Webpage for any EdgeSync alarms affecting MCE synchronization.

Why is the power LED red on my Orolia EdgeSync Switch?
    • W
      wayne79Aug 22, 2025
If the Power LED on your Orolia Switch is red, it could be due to two reasons. First, the User Interface and Control Plane Processor might still be booting up. Wait a few seconds for it to turn orange and then green (approximately 4 minutes). Second, the power supply might not meet the EdgeSync requirements. Verify that the voltage from the EdgeSync power source meets the specifications in the Power Section.

What does it mean when the GNSS LED is red on an Orolia EdgeSync Switch?
    • J
      Jesse WilliamsAug 26, 2025
If the GNSS LED on your Orolia Switch is red, there are several potential causes. First, check that the RJ45 connector for the 1 PPS or ToD input is securely inserted in the port and that the source is outputting the correct signal. Second, ensure the GNSS antenna coax is securely plugged into the SMA port and that the antenna signal is present. Finally, check the Alarms/Events Tab Webpage for any EdgeSync alarms that might be affecting the 1 PPS or ToD Input.

How to fix GNSS 1 PPS status unstable on Orolia EdgeSync?
    • R
      Rhonda KellerAug 28, 2025
If the Home Webpage shows an unstable or unavailable GNSS 1 PPS status on your Orolia Switch, it might be due to a missing or weak GNSS input signal. Verify that the GNSS Antenna coax is securely plugged into the SMA port and that the GNSS Antenna signal is present. Also, ensure that the GNSS Antenna/cable configuration meets the requirements of the Antenna input Section. Finally, check the Alarms/Events Tab Webpage for any EdgeSync alarms that might be affecting GNSS input signals.

Why is the GNSS ToD status unstable on my Orolia Switch?
    • S
      Sean SheaAug 31, 2025
If the Home Webpage shows an unstable or unavailable GNSS ToD status on your Orolia Switch, it could be due to a missing or weak GNSS input signal. Wait approximately 2 minutes for the MCE processor to complete booting. Also, verify that the GNSS Antenna/cable configuration meets the requirements of the Antenna input Section. If you're using external 1PPS/ToD inputs, connect the input sources on the EdgeSync Front Panel and enable 1PPS In and ToD In on the Interface :: GNSS web page.

How to troubleshoot Link State not up on Orolia Switch PTP Timing Ports?
    • D
      diane63Sep 4, 2025
If the Link State is not up on the Interface :: PTP Timing Ports Webpage of your Orolia Switch, it could be due to a few reasons. First, verify that the IP configuration for Port 1 and Port 2 is correct and that the network routers/switches/hubs between the EdgeSync Port 1 and Port 2 and the timing network are properly connected. Second, ensure that Port 1 and Port 2 are not in the same network/subnet as the MGMT port. Finally, check the Alarms/Events Tab Webpage for any EdgeSync alarms affecting the Timing Ports Link State.

What to do if MGMT Port Link State is not up on Orolia EdgeSync Switch?
    • Z
      Zachary LopezSep 6, 2025
If the Link State is not up on the Interface::MGMT Port Webpage of your Orolia Switch, it could be due to an incorrect MGMT Port IP address configuration. Verify that the IP configuration for the MGMT Port is correct and that the network routers/switches/hubs between the EdgeSync MGMT Port and the management network are properly connected. Also, ensure that the MGMT Port is not on the same network/subnet as the timing ports. Finally, check the Alarms/Events Tab Webpage for any EdgeSync alarms affecting MGMT Port Link State.
